Tomorrow's Memories

Dearest world:

I know that sometimes my sixteen short years and inexperience leads me into trouble. I forget to recycle occasionally. I cry. I’ve wasted food, and hurt others.

You’ve shown me so many things about myself and others, and I’m learning bit by bit how you work and how to trust fate. More importantly though, I’m trusting myself more. It’s been a tough year. Coming home from Germany took a lot away from me. 

Now I’m taking it back. Please, give me the strength to find love in myself, others, and you, and to appreciate myself and the trials that people have. Let’s work together to haul up the sun each morning, and enjoy the overcast days, too. 

In times of loss and confusion, please give me faith. Allow me to see the best in others, and, through that, become the best I can be.

As each night is pulled as a blanket over my head, carry the hearts of the thousands of others it covers, and give them the ability to dream.

More importantly, please give me and your people alike the ability and courage to follow through with our dreams, and to make them into reality.

I will dream that you will be loved as I love you. 

And I will love you, to the moon and back.
